Wellness Culture
Two reports, one engine
A complete report for laboratories that run culture, and the revision that keeps a molecular report correct once the culture finishes growing. Neither is a tier of the other.
The revision
Not a second report. The same report, revised.
A second document is the problem: a nurse comparing two PDFs by hand, or not. When culture returns, the molecular report is re-issued as a revision that supersedes the first, and the revision is included, not a second charge.
- What changed, first
- If the lead agent changed, the report says so in its first line, and why. If it did not, it says that too. The chip is never missing, because a missing chip reads as unchanged.
- Susceptibilities confirmed
- Measured susceptibility replaces gene-inferred prediction, drug by drug. Culture is the measurement that opens therapy, so the report leads with what it confirmed.
- PCR findings correlated
- Every PCR finding is set beside what culture recovered, both ways: what culture found that PCR did not, and the reverse, including the uncomfortable row.
- Everything else carried forward
- Patient, specimen, timing and the parts of the plan the culture did not touch stay exactly as they were, stamped as unchanged.
Three shapes
Each one has a question the susceptibility table alone gets wrong
- 1
After a PCR report
The same report, revised. The step-down the molecular report planned on day zero either proceeds or is declined, with the reason.
- 2
Culture only, one isolate
A ranked, dosed recommendation built from the measured panel plus the specimen and the patient. Organisms that can turn resistant on therapy are flagged even when they test susceptible.
- 3
Culture only, several isolates
Cross-isolate coverage: which agents are active against every isolate, not just one of them, which no per-isolate panel answers on its own.
Doses are stated on the lead and on every alternative, quoted from current labeling and guidance. Absence is never a green light: an agent the laboratory did not test is shown as not tested, never as susceptible. Turnaround is shown from receipt as well as from collection, because the courier's time is not the laboratory's.
Culture reporting for your laboratory
Sample culture reports are available on request. Tell us whether you run culture alone or alongside molecular, and we will walk you through both.
